Zalis 60th anniversary
Robert and Virginia Zalis of Butler will celebrate 60 years of marriage with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m., July 27, at their home in Shanor Heights.
Zalis married the former Virginia Smith on May 8, 1954, at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
They have two children, Judy Ann (Dennis) Hodak of Butler and Robert (Ileana) Zalis Jr. of Summerfield, Fla.
They also have four grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Zalis retired from AK Steel. He coached Butler City and Center Township Little League for more than 15 years.
Mrs. Zalis is a homemaker. She is a member of Aglow and home Bible studies.
The couple enjoys camping, boating and time with their family. They bowled on leagues and were campground hosts at Shenango Reservoir for five years.
The Zalises are members of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
