Jim and Karen Fischer

Jim and Karen Fischer of Butler will celebrate 50 years of marriage with a family picnic this summer.

Fischer married the former Karen Benson on June 6, 1964, at St. Peter’s in Butler.

They have four children, Christine (Scott) Bachman of Butler, Joni Fischer of Butler, Terri (Dan) McMullen of Union, Ky., and Jim (Hally) Fischer of Harrisville.

They also have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Fischer was a machinist at Armco.

Mrs. Fischer, a registered nurse, was a visiting nurse.

The Fischers are members of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler.
