Summit Elementary walk-a-thon helps fight child cancer

SUMMIT TWP — The Summit Elementary School staff will have a schoolwide walk-a-thon for students and family members on Wednesday to benefit CureSearch for Children’s Cancer.

The walk is being held because the “school family” has been affected by cancer several times in recent years.

Students and staff will begin at the school at 1:45 p.m., walking from the Rails-to-Trails on Brinker Road and following the trail to the Summit Township Municipal Building. The walk will then circle back to the school.

Drinks and snacks will be provided, and a school nurse will be there.

Cash and check donations will be accepted. Checks can be made payable to “CureSearch for Children’s Cancer.”

Family members must respond by Friday to participate. Donations will be accepted until June 4, which is the rain date for the event.

Donations can be sent to Summit Elementary School, 351 Brinker Road, Butler PA 16002.
