A block of West New Castle Street between North Main and North Jackson streets in Butler will be closed to traffic beginning Monday to make way for the annual summer plaza.

The West New Castle Street Plaza will open for its third year on Memorial Day weekend.

A stage will be set up next week and will be ready for the opening concert at 7 p.m. May 30.

Butler Downtown, the city’s Main Street Program, once again is managing the plaza. The group plans on having concerts and events at the stage this summer.

A calendar of events will be available on the group’s website within a couple weeks.
