Metcalfe pursues Kane impeachment
HARRISBURG — State Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-12th, next week plans to make good on his promise to investigate and potentially bring impeachment proceedings against state Attorney General Kathleen Kane. Speaking Tuesday at his annual Second Amendment rally in Harrisburg, Metcalfe said Kane has “shown a pattern of abuse” most notably refusing to defend the state in a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union to overturn the state’s ban on gay marriage.
Kane also refused to prosecute four Philadelphia legislators who were allegedly caught taking money from lobbyists, a decision Metcalfe disagrees with.
As chairman of the House State Government Committee, Metcalfe will preside over the hearing next week focusing on Kane. He could introduce an impeachment resolution against her.
