EAST LANSING, Mich. — Center Township resident and Michigan State University sophomore goaltender Jake Hildebrand has been named MVP of the Spartans' hockey team.

Hildebrand started 32 of Michigan State's 36 games this season, compiling a .923 save percentage, a 2.44 goals-against average and two shutouts.

He allowed two or fewer goals in 21 of his 32 starts.

ERIE — Nathan Steele, a Seneca Valley High graduate and senior outside hitter on the Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team, has been named to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference First Team for the second straight year.Steele tallied a conference-best hitting percentage of .317 and led the Lions in kills (227) and total attempts (508).
