5 charged in Cranberry Twp. store thefts
CRANBERRY TWP — Police last week arrested five people from Beaver County charged with stealing more than $1,300 from a Marshall’s store.
The suspects, all from either Beaver Falls or New Brighton, hit the Marshall’s store in Cranberry Township six times between Feb. 9 and April 4.
The group also is wanted for similar thefts at a store in Center Township, Beaver County, dating back to January.
According to police documents, the five suspects would take turns stealing merchandise from the store. Then other members of the alleged theft ring would return the stolen goods in exchange for gift cards, which they would then sell at face value.
In total, more than $1,300 in gift cards was stolen through the 11 thefts.
Police used video surveillance to help identify the suspects, who also had to present valid identification to receive the gift cards.
Both the surveillance and IDs helped police catch the suspects, who are awaiting preliminary hearings in front of District Judge Dave Kovach in Cranberry.
The suspects are Ashley Renee Dhayer, 31, of Beaver Falls; Kevin Michael Goode, 42, of Beaver Falls; Jack Charles Hodgson, 46, of New Brighton; Brandon Michael Mosley, 23, of New Brighton; and Nehemiah Antonio Mosley, 34, of New Brighton.
Each of the suspects is charged with theft by deception, criminal conspiracy, access device fraud, retail theft and receiving stolen property.
