Union offers 'Beauty, Beast'

Union High School will present “Beauty and the Beast” at 7 p.m. April 10, 11 and 12 in the high school gym.

RIMERSBURG — Union High School will present the musical “Beauty and the Beast” at 7 p.m. April 10, 11 and 12 in the high school gymnasium, 354 Baker St.

Tickets are available at the door or by calling 814-473-3121, Ext. 5, line 3.

Based on the Disney movie, “Beauty and the Beast” is the story of Belle, a girl who is dissatisfied with life in a small provincial French town.

She is constantly trying to fend off the misplaced “affections” of the conceited Gaston.

The Beast is a prince who was placed under a spell because he could not love. A wrong turn taken by Maurice, Belle’s father, causes the two to meet.

David Gibson is the director, and Lisa Hummel is the pit conductor.

Cindy Culp is the assistant director. Noah Vereb is the student director. Davy Whitmire is in charge of sound.
