Irate driver suspected of slashing cars' tires

'Assassin' game possibly linked

CENTER TWP — A game played with water guns apparently proved to be anything but innocent fun in a weekend incident in the township, authorities said.

State police reported that a pair of tire slashings could be linked to the so-called “Assassins” game.

The game, popular across the nation among some high school students, is a kind of live-action, role-playing sport with squirt guns.

As part of the game, teenage players are assigned “targets” that they “kill” with either a water gun or water balloon.

But an unknown man wasn’t so amused by a recent game among local high schoolers, police said.

Investigators believe the suspect became “irate” over “the erratic driving” of boys playing the game and followed one of the youths back to his home in the Willow Run plan in Center Township early Sunday morning, according to a police report.

The man confronted the fiance of the boy’s mother and allegedly threatened to return.

Later that morning, the boy’s 47-year-old mother awoke to find tires slashed on two vehicles parked in her driveway, police said.

The suspect is described as white, in his mid-40s and about 5 feet, 8 inches tall with an average build. The man has short blond hair and facial hair. He possibly may be driving a blue Subaru sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
