Tip aids in arrest of drug suspects
Authorities continue to round up suspected drug dealers wanted by the Butler County Drug Task Force following a sweep earlier this month.
Sally M. Dillaman, 28, and boyfriend Nikolas A. Gaillot, 36, both of Butler were the latest suspects nabbed and jailed.
Butler County sheriff’s deputies caught the pair Monday at the Super 8 motel on Route 8 south in Butler Township.
A tip sent the deputies to the motel, said Butler County Detective Tim Fennell, who heads the drug task force.
A motel employee recognized Gaillot from a wanted photo posted on the Butler City Police Department’s Facebook page, Fennell noted.
Dillaman is charged with delivery and possession of a controlled substance for the alleged sale of crack cocaine Feb. 15, 2013, in Center Township.
Gaillot is charged with delivery and possession of a controlled substance for the alleged sale of 10 stamp bags of heroin Jan. 6 in the city.
Both defendants were arraigned on charges and placed in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 each.
Fennell said investigators sought the high bail for the suspects, who have been wanted on arrest warrants since March 4.
“They’ve been hiding from us by staying at other people’s houses and at motels,” Fennell said. “They’ve been trying to evade arrest.”
On Sunday, Butler Police arrested Ahmad E. Rashad, 56, of Butler, another suspect wanted for allegedly selling crack cocaine Dec. 12 in the city and nine stamp bags of heroin Jan. 17 in Butler Township.
Rashad is charged with delivery, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal use of a communication facility in connection with a pair of alleged drug deals.
He remains in the county jail on $50,000 bail.
James B. Crookshank, 27, of Butler, meanwhile, who also was wanted on an arrest warrant turned himself in to Butler police on Thursday.
Crookshank is charged with delivery, possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance for the alleged sale of crack cocaine Jan. 2 in the city.
He is in the county prison on $25,000 bail.
The recent arrests bring to 24 the number of suspected dealers arrested in the drug task force sweep initiated March 4.
Drug trafficking arrest warrants remain for Jerrell D. Fleming, 26, of Pittsburgh; and Audrey M. McKivigan, 22, of Butler.
