O'Brien 50th anniversary
James Patrick and Alice Anne O’Brien of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a stay at Tara Country Inn in Clark and with a family dinner at Rachel’s Roadhouse in Butler.
O’Brien married the former Alice Oesterling on Feb. 28, 1964, at Cedar Grove Church in Philadelphia.
They have two children, Paul Patrick O’Brien of Butler and Craig Patrick O’Brien of Washington, D.C.
O’Brien retired from Armco Steel.
He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and is a member of VFW Post 249 and American Legion Post 778.
Mrs. O’Brien is a retired registered nurse.
She is a member of the Nurses Alumni Association of Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia and is a former board member of the Butler YWCA.
The O’Briens are members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Butler, where Mrs. O’Brien is a member of the women’s Bible study.
