Hoehn 103rd birthday
Mary Rieger Hoehn celebrated her 103rd birthday at Passavant Retirement Home in Zelienople.
Celebrating with her were more than 30 family members from California, Maryland, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including Gerald, Nancy and Julie Hoehn, Anna Mae Patterson and Karen Patterson Wise, all of Butler, and Cara Hoehn Lapic and Dan Lapic of Cranberry Township.
The former Mary Catherine Rieger was born Jan. 19, 1911, in Clearfield Township. She married the late Albert C. Hoehn in January 1935 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Butler.
She has two children, the Rev. Dr. Richard (Carole) Hoehn of Alelphi, Md., and Ruth Marie (the Rev. Kenneth) Stoyer of Orlando, Fla. She also has five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She is a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She taught for more than 40 years in the Butler School District and retired in 1976.
