George and Sandy Gardner

George and Sandy Gardner of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a family dinner at W. Rick's Taproom in Meridian.

Gardner married the former Sandra Graham on Dec. 28, 1963, at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Butler.

They have two children, George Jr. (Lisa) of Bristow, Va., and Steve (Karen) of Dunedin, Fla.

They also have five grandchildren.

Gardner retired from AK Steel. He is a Marine Corps veteran.

Mrs. Gardner retired from Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania and Butler Health System.

The Gardners are members of First United Methodist Church in Butler.
