Eileen Varner

Eileen Varner recently celebrated her upcoming 90th birthday with family and friends at a surprise party given by her family at the Oneida Valley Fire Hall.

She was born D. Eileen Elliott in Sligo on Jan. 3, 1924. She married Clarence “Bud” Varner Jr. on Nov. 29, 1941, and spent 53 years with him until his death on Aug. 27, 1995.

Mrs. Varner has four children, Rosalee (Ron) Stoner of Butler, Roger (Christine) Varner of Clarion, Cathy (Carl) Wetzel of Butler and Gene (Kelly) Varner of Knox.

She also has 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Mrs. Varner is a homemaker and attends New Testament Baptist Church.
