MIDDLESEX TWP — The family of an Adams Township man who has brain damage from a blood clot in 2012 is holding a fundraiser to buy a handicap-accessible van.

A spaghetti dinner will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Middlesex Township fire hall to benefit Daniel Branchen.

The clot formed in his left leg and traveled through his body, causing total organ failure and cardiac arrest.

Branchen, a former union electrician for Local 5 and the oldest of 11 siblings, lost the use of his left leg. He spent eight months in the hospital.

Admission to the dinner is $10 for adults and $6 for children 10 and younger. There will be a basket drawing.

BUTLER TWP — The Same Page Parenting Program will host a meeting Sunday evening to discuss setting technological boundaries for children with the Internet, smart phones or other devices.The group will discuss how youth can be developmentally delayed with inappropriate Internet use and the impacts of cyber bullying among students.Speakers will include: Ann McCandless, dean of Educational Technology at Butler County Community College; Jennifer Fisher, with BC3's IT Department; Beth Ehrenfried-Neveux, prevention specialist at Butler County Human Services; and Elaine Surma, senior supervisory special agent with the state attorney general's office.The meeting will from 6 to 8 p.m. at BC3's Founder's Hall.
