Grove City ousted in playoffs
ERIE — Senior Foster Reznor rushed for 103 yards on 19 carries, but the Grove City High football team saw its season come to an end in a 28-7 loss to Northwestern in the first round of the District 10 Class AA playoffs at Erie Veterans Stadium Saturday night.
The Eagles (5-5) fell behind 14-0 at the half and 28-0 after three quarters.
Reznor also had an interception, forced a fumble and recovered a fumble on defense for Grove City.
Jared Sample scored the lone touchdown for the Eagles in the fourth quarter.
Northwestern running back Brandon Reiser gained 123 yards on 23 carries and scored a pair of touchdowns to give him a school-record 28 on the season.
The Wildcats will take on Hickory in the district semifinals this week.
