Annual Heart Walk at BC3 raises $70,000

BUTLER TWP — The 10th annual Heart Walk on Saturday raised $70,000 for heart and stroke research and awareness.
The 500 participants who attended the event at Butler County Community College were asked to complete three one-mile loops on the walking path around the campus.
The Butler County Division of the American Heart Association sponsored the walk.
The walk had a goal of $75,000, and the heart association still is accepting donations, which can be sent to the American Heart Association, 326 Cottingham Circle, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.
Heart disease is the number one killer of men and women and the number one birth defect in children.
