Brandon Eckstein received his white coat at Duquesne University, marking his entrance into his third year of the school’s six-year doctor of pharmacy program at the Mylan School of Pharmacy.

Eckstein is a 2011 graduate of Mars High School and the son of Brian and Connie Eckstein of Adams Township.

American Legion Post 243 in West Sunbury awarded scholarships to five students:

Holly Brown graduated from Butler High School and is a freshman in the Butler County Community College nursing program.

Chelsea Catterall graduated from Moniteau High School and is a freshman in the Butler County Community College nursing program.

Amanda Mock is a freshman in the Gannon University physician assistant program. She graduated from Moniteau High School.

Allyssa Schaffner graduated from Butler High School and is a freshman at Butler County Community College studying photography.

Sierra Stephens, a graduate of Slippery Rock High School, is a freshman studying social work at California (Pa.) University.
