Yelland 60th anniversary
Lloyd and Gwendolyn Yelland of Slippery Rock celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family dinner at the North Liberty Presbyterian Church in Grove City.
Yelland married the former Gwendolyn Kiebler on Aug. 14, 1953, at North Liberty Presbyterian Church.
They have two children, Kenneth Yelland of Oxford, Pa., and the late Linda Stewart.
They also have three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Yelland was a partner at Yelland and Dickey Trucking in Slippery Rock for more than 30 years. He also worked at McKnight Coal and retired from Cooper Brothers.
He is a member of North Liberty Presbyterian Church where he met his wife. He is a member of the church choir.
Mrs. Yelland retired as the food service secretary for Slippery Rock School District and continued providing switchboard coverage for the district until 2012.
She also is a member of North Liberty Presbyterian Church where she has been an organist for 48 years. She is a member of the church Women’s Association and attends the Morning Circle.
