Four Slippery Rock errors led to four unearned runs as the Sliders dropped their 2013 Prospect League baseball opener 8-1 at West Virginia Tuesday night.

The Sliders used a quartet of pitchers, including starter Ryan Ahrens and relievers Travis Clark, Alex Watson and Kevin Becker-Mendito. Ahrens took the loss after allowing four runs (one earned) in four innings. He struck out two and walked two.

Trey Rogers doubled and scored Slippery Rock’s only run in the top of the seventh inning.
