Albert E. “Ab” Klingensmith Jr., 85, of Sligo passed away at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on April 15, 1928, in Callensburg, the only son of Albert E. and Hazel Haun Klingensmith.

On June 6, 1953, Albert married Patricia M. Johnston, who passed away on April 10, 2005.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.

Ab retired from Armco Steel in Butler with 33 years of service. He was a member of the Sligo United Methodist Church. He was a 32 degree Mason.

KLINGENSMITH — Friends of Albert E. “Ab” Klingensmith Jr., who passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Varner Funeral Home, 1632 Bald Eagle St., Sligo. Additional visiting will be one hour before the funeral services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Craig Petersen, pastor of the Sligo United Methodist Church, officiating.
