GC track nets 3rd D-10 title
Grove City senior Lauren Decker had herself quite a showing at Wednesday's District 10 Class AAA Track and Field Championships at Harbor Creek High School.
Decker helped account for four titles (two individual and two relays), helping the Eagles claim their third straight district team championship.
Decker claimed the 400 run (59.75 seconds) and the 200 dash (26.07) and was also part of the winning 4x800 (9:37.1) and 4x400 (4:03.77) relay teams. She teamed with Abby Casalnova, Kara McClain and Mary Jaskowak for the 3,200 win and Casalnova, Courtney Corbin and Olivia Lowe in the 1,600 victory, which clinched the team title.
Jaskowak won titles in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs while Hailey Hall won the pole vault for the Eagles.
In boys action, Grove City's Dan Jaskowak won the 1,600 and 800 runs and teamed with Ian Brown, John Scott Somora and Ryan Whiteman to claim first-place in the 4x800 relay.
Slippery Rock was led by Shane Kirkwood's second-place effort in the high jump.
Following are the Grove City and Slippery Rock athletes who placed in the top eight at the District 10 Class AAA Championships. Slippery Rock's girls will compete in the Class AA event on Saturday.

Moniteau clinched a District 9 playoff spot with a 24-2 drubbing of Keystone.The Warriors (7-8) plated eight runs in the second frame and added 14 more in the top of the fourth.
