The Hoovers in 1948

Martin “Bud” and Ella Hoover of Harrisville celebrated 65 years of marriage with a family dinner.

Hoover married the former Ella Castor on March 12, 1948, in the bride’s home in Slippery Rock.

They have five children, Randy Hoover of Zelienople, Mike Hoover of Glide, Ore., Richard Hoover of Slippery Rock, Martin Hoover of Prospect and Lori Farris of Niceville, Fla.

They also have seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Hoover is a retired carpenter who was a member of Local 2274 for 50 years.

He is a member of VFW Post 6231, American Legion Post 494 and Eagles Aerie 1895.

Mrs. Hoover is a homemaker.

The Hoovers belong to the Harrisville United Methodist Church.
