1:07 a.m. Thursday — An unidentified vehicle struck and sheared off a utility pole along Delwood Road just west of Zenith Road. The unknown driver did not stop after the crash. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run accident is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.3:32 p.m. Wednesday — John Bass, 19, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, was caught allegedly shoplifting $109 worth of video games from the Wal-Mart in Butler Commons. Police said Bass is charged with retail theft.
Noon Thursday — The owner of a 6-year-old yellow Labrador retriever reported the dog lost when it went missing around South Benbrook Road in Center Township. The female dog named “Molly” weighs about 60 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.6:47 p.m. Wednesday — Donnie J. Fetter, 47, of Fenelton was hurt when the car he was driving collided with a sport utility vehicle at Route 422 and Moran Road in Clearfield Township. Fetter, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Police said he was cited for making an improper left turn. Richard A. Hospodar, 55, of Ford City, Armstrong County, was driving the SUV.1:37 p.m. Wednesday — Thomas W. Lee, 87, of Petrolia suffered moderate head and neck injuries when a tractor-trailer struck the vehicle he was driving in Washington Township. Police said the accident occurred when Lee pulled from the Trader Horn store and into path of the rig driven by Steven M. Schwabenbauer, 57, no address given.Lee, who was wearing a seat belt, was flown by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Police said he faces unspecified traffic tickets in the crash.Feb. 14 — Someone set fire to a small amount of papers in a recycling bin at Clearfield Elementary School in Clearfield Township. The fire burned the plastic lids on the recycling container. Damage was estimated at $120.
5:42 p.m. Thursday — Cody B. Kline, 18, of Rimersburg was hurt when the pickup truck he was driving slid on ice and crashed on Phil Smith Road in Toby Township. The pickup rolled over and landed on its wheels. Kline, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.Noon Wednesday — Christopher R. Perlak, 31, of Emlenton suffered minor injuries when he lost control of his pickup and struck a tree along snow-covered Ninevah Road in Ashland Township. Police said Perlak, who was wearing a seat belt, faces a ticket for driving too fast for conditions.
