The Furkas in 1948

Joseph and Margaret Furka of Lyndora celebrated 65 years of marriage with a family dinner at their home.

Furka married the former Margaret Hancheck on Feb. 7, 1948, at St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora.

They have six children, Cecilia George, Joe Furka Jr., Diana McCandless, Debbie Peitz, Theresa Czyzyk and Veronica Forcht, all of Butler. A son, David Furka, is deceased.

They also have 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Furka is retired from Armco.

He enjoys fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Mrs. Furka is a homemaker.

The Furkas are members of St. Fidelis Catholic Church and enjoy traveling and visiting their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
