Union edges KC for 7th straight win

Dylan Shirey scored 10 points and the Union defense did the rest with a stifling effort to edge Karns City 34-30 in high school boys basketball action Wednesday night.

Shawn Hazlett added eight points and Brody Shick six points and eight rebounds for the Golden Knights, who held the Gremlins to single digits in each quarter.

Andrew Johnston paced Karns City (6-11) with 10 points. Logan Moroney had 15 rebounds for the Gremlins.

Union (9-7) has now won seven straight games.
