Wednesday — Police charged Katherine J. Yova, 31, of Slippery Rock with passing a check, written on a closed account, at Flynn's Tire and Auto Service on West Main Street. Yova is charged with theft by deception and bad checks.11:50 a.m. Jan. 19 — David L. Dickson, 59, of Grove City is accused of allowing his dogs to run loose and unattended in the area of Hillcrest Circle. Police cited him for failing to confine his dogs.

5:14 a.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Sarah P. Weidenhof, 23, of Butler crashed over an embankment and ended on a set of railroad tracks on O'Donnell Road just north of D'Allyson Lane in Clearfield Township.

7:38 a.m. Monday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Robert K. Milligan, 25, of Kittanning struck a concrete barrier on an overpass on Route 28 about 2½ miles south of Route 422 in North Buffalo Township. Police said Milligan was cited for driving too fast for conditions.7 p.m. Friday — An SUV driven by Mandy C. Rankin, 37, of Karns City crashed into a tree along Hillville Road near Seybertown Road in Perry Township. Police said Rankin was cited for driving too fast for conditions.11:55 a.m. Friday — An unknown thief stole a brake drum that accidentally fell from a truck tractor traveling on Route 28 in North Buffalo Township. Before driver Charles Snyder, no age given, of Leeper could retrieve the brake drum, someone took it.

5:44 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Raymond E. Haggard, 49, of Mercer spun into a guardrail on ice-covered Interstate 80 in Wolf Creek Township. Haggard, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.8:30 a.m. Monday — Two people were hurt when a car crashed into a utility pole along Brent Road about 1 mile west of Jervis Road in Liberty Township, Mercer County. The driver, Katherine Lutes, 41, and her passenger, a 13-year-old boy, both of Mercer, suffered minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.
