12:15 p.m. Thursday — Donald Alan Cowfer Jr., 25, of Russellton in Allegheny County was arrested on outstanding warrants from Butler Township police and Allegheny County.12:41 p.m. Wednesday — Jeremy Schmidt, 35, of Butler was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Butler Constable Robert Geagan.8:59 a.m. Wednesday — Kevin Minich of Butler reported damage done overnight to the gutter on the northeast corner of his residence. The gutter was bent, causing $100 worth of damage.

4 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Butler boy hit a stone wall along Golden City Road in Jefferson Township. The driver was cited for not driving at a safe speed.5:55 a.m. Wednesday — An SUV driven by Dana Desmond, 57, of Butler wrecked along a slush-covered Thorn Drive in Oakland Township. She was cited for not driving at a safe speed.2:40 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Ian Lark, 21, of Valencia hit a guardrail along a snow-covered Church Road in Penn Township.10:25 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Ian Toy, 28, of Vandergrift hit a wooden fence along Winfield Road in Winfield Township. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and cited for not staying in his lane.

Jan. 1 — Two teenage boys, roughly 14 to 15 years old, passed counterfeit $20 bills at the Springfield Township Sheetz on Butler Pike and the Pine Township Sheetz on West Main Street Extension between 4:15 and 6 p.m. A third suspect remained inside a maroon Ford Escape with gray trim both times. Police are investigating, including reviewing video footage supplied by the stores. Anyone knowing the identity of the suspects should call police at 724-662-6162.

Thursday — Patrick Flynn of Slippery Rock Township reported the theft of $1,350 worth of items stolen from his residence at 364 Rosepoint Harlansburg Road between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The following items were taken: an Insignia 37-inch television, an Insignia DVD player, a Cosco aluminum ladder, a Craftsman 16-inch electric chain saw, a Craftsman 220 mph electric blower, a Black & Decker 18-volt, 12-inch trimmer and edger, a black Eureka upright vacuum, two 250-foot orange extension cords and a red toolbox with assorted tools.
