Butler Police5:35 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Hali R. Rose, 21, of Lyndora struck a utility pole along the 200 block of West Jefferson Street. Rose suffered a minor injury.10:55 a.m. Tuesday — A hit-and-run vehicle, believed to be yellow, struck a vehicle owned by Art Osniak of Butler while it was parked along the 100 block of Pleasantview Avenue between 6 a.m. and 10:55 a.m. Tuesday.Jan. 3 — The door and rear window of a Jeep belonging to Heather Newbold of Karns City were damaged when someone tried to break into the vehicle while it was parked along the 100 block of West Diamond Street between 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Jan. 3.
Butler Township Police10 a.m. Wednesday — A tractor-trailer driven by Gregory J. Crownover, 52, Kittanning struck a guard rail then rolled over an embankment, onto its side, while carrying explosive materials on Route 422 west. Crownover suffered minor injuries and was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital. Route 422 was closed for about six hours due to a combination of icy weather and removal of the truck.10 a.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Gary Pinkerton, 62, of Numine, Pa., struck the barrier and a snow bank along Route 422 west.
Grove City PoliceThursday — A vehicle driven by Ronald Winger, no age given, of Grove City and a vehicle driven by Guenter Eickman, no age given, of Grove City collided at the intersection of West Main Street and Stewart Avenue. Winger was cited for a stop sign violation.Monday — Jeremy Westlake, 20, of Sandy Lake was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop for an out-of-date vehicle inspection.
State Police, Butler10:30 p.m. Thursday — Someone used a BB gun to shoot a cat belonging to Richard Elias of Center Township, injuring the animal’s side and shoulder, in the area of Beachwood Boulevard in Center Township between 3 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Thursday.9:50 p.m. Thursday — Daniel Nicodemus, no age given, of Portersville was charged with simple assault after he allegedly punched and kicked Adrianna Ewing of Butler during an argument at 108 Nico Lane in Muddy Creek Township.10:35 a.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by William Barger, 53, of West Sunbury crashed and rolled over several times at the intersection of Route 308 and Church Road in Center Township. Barger suffered moderate injuries.10:30 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Tammy Hartwick, 55, of Karns City crashed into an embankment and rolled onto its roof along Route 308 near Pinehurst Road in Center Township. Hartwick suffered a minor injury.10:30 a.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Jacinda Mosby, 35, of Springfield, Va. crashed into an embankment along Route 308 near Aggas Road in Center Township. Mosby was uninjured, but passenger Ray Kummer, 78, of Butler was not wearing a seat belt and suffered moderate injuries.10:26 a.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Brett Andree, 35, of Avonmore, Pa., crashed into a tree along Route 308 near Brimstone Road in Center Township. Brett Andree was not injured, but passenger Todd Andree, 42, of Saltsburg, Pa., who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered severe injuries and was taken by medical helicopter to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.9:50 a.m. Wednesday — An SUV driven by Mark G. Davidson, 57, of Grove City, an SUV driven by Robert W. Comfort, 47, of Monroeville, a tractor-trailer driven by Daniel P. Montgomery, 64, of Niles, Ohio, and a pickup truck driven by Randolph Fusco, 74, of New Castle collided on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. Davidson’s passenger, Bobbie Farr, 31, of Grove City, and Fusco each suffered minor injuries.
