Beau Heakins scored the game-winning goal with 23 seconds remaining Tuesday night as the Mars varsity hockey team defeated Serra Catholic, 2-1.

Trevor Tisdale and Ed Schwadron assisted on the winning tally. Jonathan Kowalkowski scored the first Planets’ goal, assisted by Craig Mazzotta.

Alex Stepke had 16 saves in goal for Mars (3-2), which plays Thomas Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warrendale Blade Runners.
