7:24 a.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by Gary A. Kretzler Jr., 27, of Saxonburg struck a utility pole at Morton and Lyon avenues. Kretzler told officers that he lost control of his pickup when he momentarily took his eyes of the road to grab his coffee cup that was about to spill, according to a police report.Saturday — An unidentified vehicle, possibly a white sport utility vehicle or pickup truck struck the driver's side of a pickup parked in front of a home in the 200 block of East Locust Street and did not stop after the crash. The victim's pickup sustained a scrape mark and dent in the door.The hit-and-run accident happened between 2 and 8:30 a.m.10:22 a.m. Friday — Michelle A. Moreland-Taylor, 44, of Butler was caught allegedly shoplifting $227.80 in merchandise, including clothing items and DVDs and compact discs, at the Kmart store in Pullman Square.Police said Moreland-Taylor faces a charge of retail theft.

4:28 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Michael E. Beamer, 18, of Butler struck a deer on Dinnerbell Road just east of Victory Road in Jefferson Township.2:30 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Herman Ross, 80, of Toronto, Canada, struck a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Worth Township.12:23 p.m. Oct. 20 — A car driven by Gretchen C. Follstaedt, 19, of Butler struck a sport utility vehicle at Harmony Road and West Mercer Street in Mercer Township. Police said Follstaedt was cited for making an improper turn. Rebecca A. Leitem, 33, of Grove City was driving the SUV.10 a.m. Oct. 16 — A Center Township man was defrauded of $976. Police said they are investigating the suspected theft by deception case but no other information was released.Oct. 14 — An unknown thief stole a 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol from a man's car in Prospect. The gun was taken between Sept. 24 and Oct. 14.Oct. 12 — An identity thief used a Butler man's debit card to withdrew $1,000 from his account at the S&T Bank branch on New Castle Road in Butler Township.

10:51 a.m. Friday — An unknown driver in a Honda Accura did not stop after rear-ending a pickup truck on Leesburg-Grove City Road in front of Premium Outlets in Springfield Township. Sandra L. Teets, 58, of West Sunbury was driving the pickup.
