CHERRY TWP — The Moniteau High School Relay for Life Club was the highest fundraising team at the 20th annual Relay for Life of Butler.
Joshua Walker, a representative from the income department of the American Cancer Society, presented the plaque to team members for raising more than $8,800.

Angela Schandelmeier has been named a Commended Student in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Although they will not continue in the 2013 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2013 competition by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
Angela is a senior at Moniteau High School and is the daughter of Keith and Denise Schandelmeier.

Julianna Hritz of Seven Fields joined University Choir, Campus Activities Board, freshman girls’ small group, The Well and Family Consumer Sciences Club at Ashland University in Ohio.
Hritz is majoring in family and consumer science education.
She is a 2012 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and is the daughter of Paul and Susan Hritz.

Victoria DeRiggi of Harmony, Kevin Farinelli of Cranberry Township, Jordan Macey of Mars and Katherine Poeppel of Saxonburg received Red and White Scholarships from Youngstown State University.
Farinelli is majoring in nursing and Macey is majoring in education. DeRiggi and Poeppel are majoring in instrumental music education.
