Velma and Robert Pennington

Robert and Velma Pennington of Bruin will celebrate 50 years of marriage with an open house from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Allegheny Grille, 40 Main St., Foxburg. The couple requests no gifts.

Pennington married the former Velma Hillwig on Oct. 20, 1962, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Winchester, Va.

They have three children, Marilou von Gunden of Cleveland, Robert Pennington of Bruin and Kathy Wagner of Buffalo, N.Y.

They also have three grandchildren.

Pennington retired from Indespec Chemical Company in Petrolia after 42 years.

Mrs. Pennington was employed for 10 years at OPM, FIPC in Boyers.

The Penningtons have been active in community and school activities, as well as in the former Martinsburg Presbyterian Church in Bruin.
