Butler Twp. Police
Wednesday — Authorities are seeking the whereabouts of a 17-year-old boy who apparently ran away from home several days ago.
Ryan Christy was last seen Saturday night at the Greenview Garden Apartments in Butler. A police report said authorities do not believe the teen is in danger and that he could be with friends.
Christy is white, 5 feet, 7 inches tall and about 170 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes and wears eyeglasses. Police said he was last seen wearing camouflage shorts and a T-shirt.
Anyone with information about the missing boy is asked to call police at 724-285-9600 or 911.
9 a.m. Sept. 20 — An Ellwood City youth is accused of threatening faculty at the Butler Intermediate High School on Fairground Hill Road. The 15-year-old suspect, who police did not identify, is charged in juvenile court with disorderly conduct.
Sept. 5 — Police filed a felony drug charge against Corey G. Detwiler, 24, of Butler stemming from an attempted crack cocaine deal Aug. 10 in Butler.Vice officers conducted an undercover sting during which Detwiler agreed to sell $100 worth of crack, according to court documents. Police said the defendant met with an undercover officer at a gas station on South Main Street.But when the two met up, Detwiler allegedly told the officer that they would have to “take a ride to get (the crack),” a police affidavit said. At that point, police said, two other officers working surveillance emerged and arrested the suspect.Detwiler was interviewed, documents said, and admitted that he was texting the undercover officer prior to the meeting and that he was going to sell the officer crack.He is charged with attempted delivery of a controlled substance.
