Monday — A thief stole both side-view mirrors from a pickup truck that was parked during the weekend at the Alameda Plaza shopping plaza. The unknown suspect also smashed out the passenger's side window and took ratchet straps from the truck.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.
Tuesday — An unknown burglar broke into the Sherwin Williams paint store on West Main Street. Several unspecified items were taken in the burglary that happened between 7 p.m. Monday and 6:50 a.m. Tuesday.Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.
6 p.m. Tuesday — An 8-year-old Fenelton boy was hurt when a car hit him on Chicora-Fenelton Road just south of Carbon Center Road in Clearfield Township. Police said the boy ran out in front of the car that Melissa Show, 37, of Fenelton was driving.The child was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Monday — An unknown thief stole the Pennsylvania license plate XGE4012 from a trailer at Lawson Landscape Group on Route 68 near 8 Buhl Road in Forward Township. The plate was taken between Friday and Monday.Monday — Someone smashed two mailboxes at Reibold Road and Timko Lane in Forward Township. The vandalism happened between 5:30 and 10:15 a.m.Thursday — Todd E. Watt, 28, of Prospect was arrested on charges he stole a roll of copper flashing about 3:30 p.m. Sept. 5 from Bridges Painting Services on Prospect Road in Connoquenessing Township.Watt allegedly sold the copper at Bob's Salvage and Auto on Route 38 in Oakland Township. He is charged with theft and receiving stolen property.Sept. 3 — An unknown thief stole a concrete statue from the yard of a home on Red Brick Road in Washington Township. The 3-foot tall, red and blue statue depicts a man holding a lantern, and was taken between 5 p.m. Sept. 2 and 10 a.m. Sept. 3.Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.8:55 p.m. Aug. 19 — Three Butler County boys are accused of throwing rocks onto Route 422 near Hardwood Road in Clearfield Township, damaging two vehicles.The suspects, a 14-year-old Butler boy and two 15-year-olds from Butler and Fenelton, are charged in Butler County juvenile court with propulsion of missiles and criminal mischief.
9:53 p.m. Monday — Two people were hurt, one seriously, in a head-on crash at Pittsburgh and Duncan roads in Irwin Township. The wreck happened when Bryan L. Baughman, 44, of Franklin swerved his car to avoid a deer on the road and collided with an oncoming pickup truck driven by Paul Drost Jr., 61, of Gibsonia.Baughman who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered major injuries, according to a police report. He was taken to Grove City Medical Center and later flown to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio.Drost, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.
