Butler Police6:37 p.m. Saturday — Dustin J. Blinn, 29, of Butler was arrested after police found him passed out in the stairway of an apartment building on West North Street. A search turned up a syringe, a spoon with suspected heroin residue and a lighter.Police said Blinn is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.8:56 a.m. Saturday — James F. Cunningham, 30, of Zelienople faces drug-related and other charges after he was caught allegedly trying to break into vehicles on Howard and Penn streets.Police said they searched Cunningham and found him with a syringe and bottle containing prescription painkillers and anti-seizure medication.He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, attempted theft from a vehicle and public drunkenness.

State Police, Butler9:45 p.m. Sunday — Margaret Loiselle, 33, of Mexico Beach, Fla., was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car traveled through a yard and struck an embankment on Pleasant Valley Road in Muddy Creek Township.1 a.m. Saturday — An unidentified vehicle sideswiped a car parked at the Pine Glen Apartments in Slippery Rock Township and did not stop. Anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash is asked to call police.11:40 a.m. Saturday — Two men were hurt after the motorcycle they were riding crashed into woods along Euclid Road in Clay Township.West Sunbury volunteer firefighters found the injured men and their motorcycle, which was totaled in the crash. Neither man was wearing a helmet.A police report was not immediately available, and the men were not identified. Authorities said the driver suffered an apparent broken collar bone and his passenger suffered an elbow injury. Both were treated at Butler Memorial Hospital.Investigators suspect speed was a factor in the wreck.Aug. 13 — Two suspected would-be thieves tried to steal copper ground wire from a West Penn Power line on Boozel Road in Concord Township. Police did not identify the suspects.

State Police, New Castle1:44 p.m. Thursday — Daniel E. Lary, 30, of Baltimore was arrested for drugged driving after his vehicle crashed into a guardrail at Route 422 and Young Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Police said after the crash, Lary fled on foot into nearby woods. He left behind an injured passenger — a woman who was not identified in a police report. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries to her chest, head and neck.Troopers, meanwhile, arrested the suspect a short time later at a motorcycle shop.Lary was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, accidents involving injury while not property licensed, driving with a suspended license and disregarding traffic lanes, and he was later placed in the Butler County Prison on $1,000 bail.
