6:06 p.m. Monday — Denny Winner, 18, of Butler was charged with retail theft after he allegedly tried to steal a laptop charger and a PS3 charger, valued at about $100, from the Kmart on Hansen Avenue.5:08 p.m. Monday — Brent M. Spahn, 25, of Boyers and Trevor G. Walker, 22, of Butler each were charged with retail theft and criminal conspiracy after they allegedly tried to steal several gold bracelets valued at a total of about $979 from the Kmart on Hansen Avenue. Walker also was charged with defiant trespass and public drunkenness.
3:49 p.m. Thursday — Paul Hortert, 27, of Butler was charged with criminal conspiracy, retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly tried to take a television valued at $228 from Walmart without paying. Hortert's alleged accomplice, Paul Ledkins, 35, of Butler was charged with criminal conspiracy.State Police, Butler4:45 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Robert B. Lawrence, 57, of Ridgeway, Ontario, and a pickup truck driven by Paul R. Magee, 50, of New Castle collided at the intersection of East Portersville Road and Perry Highway. No one was injured and Lawrence was cited for careless driving.3:30 a.m. Monday — Someone broke into a West Liberty Road residence in Slippery Rock and stole about $360 in cash belonging to Jeremy and Kelly Kordich of Slippery Rock. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.4:09 a.m. Friday — Matthew S. Trail, 26, of Clearville, Pa., was charged with fleeing from police, failure to obey stop signs, careless driving and exceeding a 55 mph speed limit by 65 mph after he allegedly accelerated to more than 120 mph when a trooper attempted to pull him over on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. Trail was arrested after he was unable to control the motorcycle due to weather conditions.
11:30 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Donald Wier, 77, of Slippery Rock crashed into a rock and a pair of mailboxes along Laird's Crossing Road near Edward Estates Road in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County.
