Susanne B. Boyle
Susanne B. Boyle, 87, of Butler died Tuesday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Oct. 17, 1924, she was raised by the E.J. Boyle family.
She was a 1945 graduate of Mars High School. She then worked as a nurse's aide for four years at the D.T. Watson Home in Leechdale, Pa., and then was an airline flight attendant for the Colonial-Eastern Airlines and Overseas National Airways for 26 years while living in Long Island, N.Y. After returning to Butler, she again was a nurse's aide at the Wexford Nursing Home for 10 years before retiring in 1989.
Susanne was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, St. Paul's Guild, the Rosary Club at St. Paul's and the Half Club at St. Paul's. She also was a eucharistic minister at St. Paul's and at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a volunteer at the Knights of Columbus and had been a member of the St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry Township and its Women's Club.
Surviving are her close friends, Bill and Rene Pierce of Butler.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
BOYLE — Friends of Susanne B. Boyle, who died Tuesday, July 24, 2012, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.
