Helen Cypher

Helen Cypher of Cabot will celebrate her 100th birthday with an open house from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion Hall Post 683, 754 N. Pike Road, Cabot.

The former Helen Denny was born on Sept. 5, 1912, in Winfield.

She married Philip Cypher on June 6, 1938, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cabot. He is deceased.

She has two children, Philip Cypher of Freeport and Sandra Grau of Midlothian, Va.

She also has six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Cypher is a retired elementary teacher from the South Butler School District.

She has been a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church for 74 years and is a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, American Legion Auxiliary of Post 683 and the Golden Agers.
