11:58 p.m. Saturday — Police arrested a wanted man after they were called to a home in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue for a noise complaint. Officers said they got there and found four men arguing outside.Police spoke to the men, one who allegedly gave a bogus name. Officers later learned his true identity, Maurice Lee Armstrong, 34, no known address. It turned out that Armstrong was wanted on a warrant from Allegheny County.He was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant. Police also charged him with false identification to law enforcement authorities.Saturday — Police reported they recovered some of the items stolen during several vehicle break-ins in the city Friday and Saturday.Among the items found were several pieces of women's jewelry and a pair of binoculars. The owners can claim the property by calling police at 724-287-7743.Friday — A boy's bicycle was reported stolen overnight from a porch at a home in the 400 block of Virginia Avenue. The Thruster Chaos bike, valued at $75, is black and white with skull paintings on it.

Sunday — A vandal overnight threw ketchup on the front side of a house at Pittsburgh Pike and Old Plank Road. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.3:39 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Marie Campbell, 71, of Chicora crashed into a traffic sign at Whitestown Road and Hansen Avenue. Campbell was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital to be evaluated but she had no apparent injuries.

Monday — A red Zune audio player and four compact discs were stolen from a car in the 300 block of State Street. The theft happened between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 7 a.m. Monday.Sunday — Two bottles of prescription medication and loose change were stolen from a vehicle on Hillcrest Avenue. The items were taken Saturday or Sunday.Thursday — A hand bag containing $70 in currency and two dog nail trimmers was stolen from a car in the 200 block of Edgewood Avenue. The stolen property is valued at $120.Aug. 5 — An Apple iPod, wallet and cell phone were stolen from a vehicle in the 1200 block of South Broad Street.Aug. 3 — A Ford Explorer was stolen from Schall's Tire Service on North Broad Street. The vehicle was later found just two blocks away at North Broad and Cranberry roads. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-458-7925

Friday — Someone stole an unspecified amount of money after breaking into a home on Route 38 in Concord Township. The burglar struck between Thursday and Sunday.Friday — A burglar made off with unspecified items worth more than $5,000 after breaking into a home on Guillard Road in Muddy Creek Township. The home also sustained $500 in damage in the break-in between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.Friday — Unspecified property valued at more than $1,600 was stolen in a burglary at a home in the 900 block of New Castle Road in Franklin Township. The home had about $1,000 in damage in the break-in between 1:40 and 7:40 p.m.Thursday — A thief used an Oakland Township woman's credit card to make about $700 in unauthorized buys at several stores in Butler and Mercer counties.4:15 p.m. Wednesday — A pickup truck driven by Ryan L. Eddy, 44, of Boyers crashed into a utility pole along Branchton Road just west of Windy Road in Cherry Township. Eddy was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.July 12 — Tools and auto parts were stolen from a two-story garage in a burglary July 11 or 12 at a home in the 700 block of Unionville Road, Franklin Township. The stolen property is valued at $800.
