Butler Police7:42 p.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driven by Joshua M. Campbell, 38, of Warren, Ohio, struck a utility pole at Cecelia and Locust streets.1:14 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by James C. Schaefer, 62, of Center Township and a pickup truck driven by Christine A. Olczak, 40, of Butler Township collided at Route 8 and Pittsburgh Road. Police said Schaefer was cited for not stopping at a red light.2:52 p.m. Tuesday — James E. Howard-George, 19, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly accosted Dale Carothers and took Carothers’ wallet from his pants in the 500 block of West Penn Street.The suspect removed $3 from the wallet, according to court documents, before tossing the wallet onto the street and leaving.Carothers told officers that Howard-George was upset with him “about things that (Carothers) had allegedly posted on Facebook,” a police affidavit said.Howard-George was arraigned on charges of robbery and theft, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
Butler Twp. Police2:53 a.m. Monday — James Kenaan, 29, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck another car parked on Grandview Boulevard. Police said Kenaan also was cited for careless driving and driving too fast for conditions.10:02 p.m. Sunday — Patricia Lachance, 45, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI after she allegedly drove her minivan through a yard at Mercer Road and Harper Avenue.
State Police, ButlerJuly 10 — Police charged Jeffrey Charles Jones, 51, with brandishing a pistol and pointing it at 45-year-old Jeffrey Trainor during a June 10 argument in their neighborhood on Euclid School Road in Clay Township. The argument, police said, was over Jones’ cat being on Trainor’s property.Jones, who is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment, faces a preliminary hearing Sept. 4.July 5 — Police charged Nicholas A. Martinkovich, 19, of West Sunbury with stealing a bicycle from a yard in the 100 block of Main Street in Connoquenessing on June 13. Martinkovich, who is charged with theft and receiving stolen property, faces a preliminary hearing Tuesday.June 19 — Police charged Ryan S. Ferguson, 22, of Slippery Rock with stealing two girls’ Apple iPods in West Liberty on June 19. Ferguson later allegedly sold the stolen property at the GameStop store in Butler Township.The suspect, who is charged with two counts each of theft and receiving stolen property, faces a preliminary hearing Wednesday.
State Police, ClarionTuesday — A generator was stolen from a storage unit in a burglary at Cricks Mini Storage in Madison Township. The break-in and theft happened Monday or Tuesday.
State Police, Mercer2:36 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by James L. Schlabach Jr., 31, of Sandy Lake struck a small ditch and rolled onto its side after skidding off Glenn School Road just east of Cole Road in Sandy Lake Township.
