11:04 a.m. Monday — Roberta Obernauer, 40, of Butler is charged with felony retail theft at Friedman's supermarket on West Brady Street, even though the chicken she allegedly stole is valued at only $6.96, according to court documents.The alleged incident is considered a serious offense because Obernauer had two prior arrests for shoplifting.The suspect was arraigned on the charge and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.
9:15 a.m. Monday — Merritt Leasure, 28, of Portersville is accused of showing up at Old Plank Estates after being legally barred from the property. Police cited Leasure for defiant trespass.6:37 a.m. Monday — Sheila Arrasmith, 59, of Butler was hurt when she lost control of her motorcycle on loose gravel and crashed on Old Plank Road near Crisswell Road. Arrasmith was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.11:37 p.m. July 6 — Joshua Luchkiw, 26, of Butler was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol after his motorcycle crashed on Highland Avenue.Police also cited him for driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, failing to keep right, failing to wear proper head gear on a motorcycle and driving without a motorcycle license.
6:34 p.m. Tuesday — Natalie R. Kalnas, 23, of Cranberry Township lost control of her car apparently after falling asleep and struck several small trees along Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Police said Kalnas was cited for careless driving.11 a.m. Tuesday — Charles Burroway, 29, of Emlenton, Venango County, showed up at an Allegheny Township home a day after police charged him with trespassing at the same house on Byron Center Road. Police cited him for harassment in Tuesday's incident and trespass for Monday's incident.Tuesday — Police filed drug-related charges against Mark Rice, 21, of West Sunbury stemming from a 12:20 a.m. July 1 traffic stop at Route 308 and Sunset Drive in Center Township. Rice is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and driving an unregistered vehicle.Tuesday — Police filed drug charges against Brittany L. Legrand, 20, of Butler stemming from a traffic stop at 10:20 p.m. July 12 on Iroquois Road in Center Township. Legrand is charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.A passenger in her car, Ryan Fenstermaker 26, of Butler, is also charged with possession of heroin.Monday — Troopers with the vice unit obtained arrest warrants for two suspected dealers in connection with a pair of unrelated controlled drug buys in Butler earlier this year.The suspects, Richard D. Fletcher, 26, and Clecy E. Thompson, 22, both of Butler, both are charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.Fletcher allegedly sold 10 stamp bags of heroin to a police informant for $160 about 2:35 p.m. Jan. 12 on South Main Street near Wayne Street, according to court documents. The bags contained a combined 0.28 grams of heroin.Thompson, documents said, is accused of selling 7 grams of marijuana to a police informant for $50 about 1:50 a.m. Feb. 21 at a Morton Avenue apartment.Monday — An undisclosed amount of money was taken in a burglary at a home in the 300 block of Woodlands Road in Connoquenessing Township. The break-in happened between 8 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday.
4:47 p.m. Monday — David A. Rishel, 51, of East Brady was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his motorcycle crashed on Kittanning Hollow Road in Sugar Creek Township. Rishel was taken to ACMH Hospital in Kittanning with unknown injuries.
12:30 p.m. Tuesday — Mitzy L. Foster, 37, of Mercer was caught allegedly shoplifting $104.59 in items from the County Market in Pine Township Police said she is charged with retail theft.10:50 p.m. July 22 — Jerome P. West, 30, of Grove City was arrested on a bench warrant out of Butler County, following a traffic stop at Route 58 and Irishtown Road in Pine Township.Authorities had been looking for West since the warrant was issued in May 2011 after he failed to appear for a court hearing stemming from a probation violation in a previous misdemeanor assault case.Troopers, after pulling over the defendant's car, smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to a police report. Police got a search warrant for the vehicle and turned up a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana as well as other contraband.West later was placed in the Butler Count Prison for the warrant. Police said drug charges are also pending.
10:30 a.m. Tuesday — A teenager held at the Youth Development Center in Shenango Township was arrested after allegedly assaulting two aides at the juvenile detention facility.The suspect, 18-year-old Isaac J. Horman of Erie, is accused of punching Caleb Quimby, 27, in the head and elbowing Daren Burkowski, 38, in back of the head.Horman was arraigned on felony assault and other charges, and placed in the Lawrence County Jail on $10,000 bail.
Monday — Police accused Nicole Fleming, 25, of Grove City of stealing two rings and anxiety medication from a home on Spruce Street on Dec. 14. She is charged with theft.Thursday — Police charged William R. Bonzer Jr., 55, of Grove City with invasion of privacy stemming from an incident involving a 12-year-old at 10 p.m. July 20.Wednesday — Three youths are suspected of trying to steal a vehicle from Grove City High School on Highland Avenue. Police did not identify the suspects, who face theft and other charges in juvenile court.2:28 a.m. July 22 — Jeremy Hopkins, 28, of Grove City was arrested on several charges stemming from a break-in at a home in the 100 block of North Center Street. Police initially were called to the house for a reported domestic disturbance.Hopkins is charged with burglary, trespass, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, two counts of simple assault and three counts of harassment. He is free on $50,000 unsecured bail.
