Rita and Ben Hastings

Ben and Rita Hastings of Cranberry Township celebrated 40 years of marriage with a family dinner at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh.

Hastings married the former Rita Barr on Aug. 5, 1972, at Christ Lutheran Church in Millvale.

They have two sons, Ben Hastings Jr. and Kirk Hastings, both of Cranberry Township.

They also have two grandchildren.

Hastings is retired after 40 years in the automobile industry as a salesman, buyer and owner of various dealerships around Pittsburgh.

He is a former Elk member, as well as a member of the Sons of the American Legion Donegal Chapter.

Mrs. Hastings is retired from American Eagle Outfitters in Cranberry Township.

The Hastings like to spend their summers at their camp in the Laurel Highlands, riding bikes and playing bingo.
