Today — Police cited Christine J. Taggart, 41, of Butler with hit-and-run stemming from an 11 p.m. July 5 one-vehicle crash on South Main Street.Officers were called to the crash site and found a wrecked car against a retaining wall. Witnesses told police that they saw two women get out of the car and flee east on Cottage Hill Avenue. Police later identified Taggart as the driver.In addition to charging Taggart with hit-and-run, police cited Donald L. Kingsley of Butler, the owner of the car, for not having insurance on his car.

1:40 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Rickey L. Yard, 57, of Grove City crashed on Brownstown Road just west of Route 8 in Mercer Township.Saturday — A thief stole a Tom Tom global positioning system device from an unlocked car at the Giant Eagle parking lot at Clearview Mall in Center Township. The property, worth $100, was stolen between noon and 6 p.m.4:45 p.m. Friday — Vehicles driven by Harvey B. Powell, 72, of Trinity, Fla., and Leslie D. Galt, 37, of Cape Coral, Fla., collided on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.6:45 a.m. Thursday — Dallas C. Sarver, 64, of West Sunbury was hurt when a car struck the motorcycle he was driving at Route 308 and Branchton Road in Cherry Township. Sarver, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with moderate injuries.The driver of the car, Samantha S. Gass, 41, of Hilliards, was cited for a stop sign violation, according to a police report.Thursday — Someone Wednesday or Thursday cut the power cords from 10 different campers at B&R Camper Sales on Route 422 in Summit Township. Additionally, a television set worth $890 was stolen from one of the campers.2:03 a.m. July 4 — Casey L. Miller, 25, of Evans City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car struck a sign, mailbox and another car parked along Rolling Valley Lane at Eagle Mill Road in Connoquenessing Township.10:23 a.m. June 27 — A minivan driven by Cheryl D. Brinker, 66, of Cabot struck a steel mailbox post and a large stone along Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township.June 3 — Assorted tools valued at $210 were stolen from a shed in a burglary on Route 19 in Muddy Creek Township. The unknown burglar used a prying device to break into the shed June 2 or 3.

Sunday — An unknown burglar stole numerous tools and other items worth $1,005 from a garage at a home on Shaffer Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The break-in happened between May 31 and Sunday.
