Butler Police 1:07 a.m. Saturday — A hit-and-run vehicle struck a car parked in a yard in the 400 block of East Jefferson Street, then fled toward Lick Hill. The vehicle is believed to be a silver Nissan with heavy front-end damage, possibly making a screeching noise while in motion. Anyone with information should call police at 724-287-7743.10:07 p.m. Friday — A Jeep driven by Ian R. Stefaniszyn, 26, of Pittsburgh and a car driven by Brett L. Whitmire, 33, of Hilliards collided at the intersection of Main and New Castle streets.

Butler Township Police7:38 p.m. Thursday — Christopher Schmidt, 34, of Butler was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property after he allegedly tried to take merchandise from Wal-Mart without paying.6:37 p.m. Thursday — Rocky Michael II, 33, of Butler was charged with retail theft after he allegedly tried to take more than $1,000 worth of electronics merchandise from Wal-Mart without paying.2:41 p.m. Monday — Brandon Thompson, 19, of Guys Mills was charged with retail theft after he allegedly stole, then tried to return, a vacuum valued at $528, to Wal-Mart.

Grove City Police4:03 p.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Cody Slater, 23, of North Washington and a vehicle driven by Gary Bollinger, 63, of Grove City collided on West Main Street. Two passengers in Slater’s vehicle were taken by ambulance to Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries.

State Police, Butler6:45 a.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by David M. Johns, 36, of Butler struck a deer and a tree along Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township. Johns suffered a minor injury.10 p.m. Thursday — Someone entered the house at 108 Washington St., Bruin, and stole cash and jewelry valued at about $150 belonging to Lisa M. Myers of Bruin between 8:30 and 10 p.m. Thursday.4:05 a.m. Thursday — Someone entered the house at 930 New Castle Road in Butler through an unlocked window and stole $7 before being scared off by residents. Anyone with information should call police at 724-284-8100.12:55 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Megan M. Poplawsky, 30, of Pittsburgh crashed into a guardrail on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Poplawsky was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Tuesday — An unknown thief stole a wallet, a pair of sunglasses and about $5 in coins from a car parked in the driveway of a home on Manor Hill Drive in Center Township between 11:30 a.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday. The wallet contained $40, a bank debit card and personal information of the owner, a 16-year-old boy.Monday — Someone cut two 150-foot power cables from mobile living quarters owned by Marcellus Gasfield Service and located in the rear parking lot of 1498 Evans City Road in Forward Township between June 8 and Monday.11:55 a.m. July 1 — Someone driving a black, 1990s Ford F-150 stole 10 gallons of off-road diesel fuel valued at about $39 from Bogacz Country Market in Clinton Township.1:43 a.m. June 29 — Casey L. Miller, 25, of Evans City was arrested under suspicion of DUI following a traffic stop on New Castle Road near Eberhart Road in Butler Township.

State Police, New Castle8:30 a.m. Monday — Edward E. Stoner Jr., 42, of Slippery Rock, Lawrence Township, was charged with harassment and simple assault, and Sheryl D. Stoner, 48, of New Castle was charged with harassment following an altercation at 115 Rose Point-Harrisburg Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.

State Police, Kittanning4:20 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by William A. McCaslin, 25, of Cabot and a car driven by Sandra L. Jendrzejewski, 45, of Natrona Heights collided on Route 28 near Burtner Road in Harrison Township, Allegheny County. McCaslin was cited for following too closely.

State Police, Franklin2:35 p.m. Friday — A van driven by Nicholas A. Eslager, 18, of Seneca, an SUV driven by April J. Morrow, 31, of Polk and a car driven by Amanda D. Drayer, 24, of Franklin collided on Route 8 near Main Street in Sandycreek Township, Venango County. All three drivers and April Morrow’s passenger, Joyce E. Morrow, 57, of Polk, suffered minor injuries. Eslager was cited for careless driving.
