Butler PoliceMonday — A burglar reportedly stole $50 and two tie clips from an apartment at 400 W. North St. The break-in happened sometime in the past week.

Butler Twp Police4:45 a.m. Monday — Michael Koch Jr., 40, no known address, was arrested on a warrant after he was found banging on the doors and windows at a home on Bluegrass Drive. Koch was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant. Police also cited him for public drunkenness.Monday — Police filed drunken driving and drug-related charges against Melissa Kasarda, 21, of Butler stemming from a 3:36 a.m. April 10 crash on New Castle Road. Kasarda’s sport utility vehicle struck head-on a guardrail in the parking lot of Mind, Body and Yoga.Officers said they found two large baggies of marijuana and a portable scale in her purse.She is charged with driving under the influence, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.2:16 a.m. Saturday — John R. Daugherty, 43, of Butler was arrested after a suspected domestic dispute at a home on Cantrell Street. Daugherty, who is charged with simple assault and harassment, was placed in the Butler County Prison.6:40 p.m. Friday — Melinda Rodriguez, 48, of Allison Park, Allegheny County, was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting $800 worth of merchandise at the Kohl’s store in the Butler Crossing shopping plaza. Rodriguez is charged with retail theft.3:48 p.m. Friday — Henry Muth, 84, of Butler and Angela Kovacs, 18, of Jamestown, Mercer County, were hurt when cars they were driving collided at Belmont Road and North McKean Street. Both drivers were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Muth was cited for a stop sign violation.2 p.m. Friday — A chain saw was found on Main Street in Lyndora. The owner can claim the property by calling police at 724-285-9600.

State Police, ButlerMonday — Police charged Cody A. Frey, 20, of Mercer with drunken driving stemming from a 2:41 a.m. May 20 crash at Route 528 and Wolf Creek Lane in Slippery Rock Township. In addition to driving under the influence by a minor, Frey is charged with underage drinking, driving without insurance, disregarding traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.11:38 p.m. Saturday — James Samuel Henry, 32, of Zelienople was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after the motorcycle he was driving crashed on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.Saturday — Charles E. Allen, 18, of Prospect faces a criminal charge for allegedly throwing a soft drink can at a bicyclist last month in Franklin Township.Allen was riding in a car about 1:35 p.m. May 27 when he threw a can that narrowly missed hitting Derek Davis’ head, according to court documents.Davis was riding his bike on the side of Route 528 just north of the bridge over Lake Arthur. The can got so close that its contents sprayed his face, Davis said.He got the license plate number of the car that Allen was riding in. Troopers tracked down Davis, who admitted he threw the can out the car window but denied he was trying to hit Davis with it, documents said.Police charged him with propulsion of missiles, a second-degree misdemeanor.June 4 — An unknown burglar stole a computer from a home on North Ash Avenue in Parker, Armstrong County.The suspect got inside through a second-floor window that was broken from a previous burglary. The window had not been replaced, according to a police report, due to the expense of the antique window frame.

State Police, MercerMonday — An unidentified vehicle struck a 9-foot section of vinyl fencing at Katie’s Corner Ice Cream at Route 208 and George Junior Road in Pine Township. Damage is estimated at $300 in the incident that happened between 10 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday.Monday — Police reported they are investigating a reported physical assault and sexual assault June 5 at the George Junior Republic juvenile detention facility on Pine Township. Authorities said the alleged victim is 17 years old. They released no other information.
