The Coopers in 1962

John “Jack” Sr. and Karen Cooper of Renfrew will celebrate 50 years of marriage.

Cooper married the former Karen Rhoades on June 29, 1962, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Butler.

They have four children, John Cooper Jr., Kellie Rodgers, Tracy Maalouf and Tung Nguyen, all of Butler.

They also have 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Cooper is a retired salesman.

He is on the Salvation Army Board and a member of Kiwanis and Community Care Connection.

Mrs. Cooper is a registered nurse and substitute school nurse.She is involved in many church committees and councils, as well as handbell ringers.The Coopers are member of Gideon International and St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
