Maxine and Tom Holt

Tom and Maxine Holt of Butler will celebrate 70 years of marriage with a family dinner at the family’s residence in Meridian.

Holt married the former Lois Maxine Young on June 22, 1942, in a private ceremony in York, S.C.

They have nine living children, seven around Butler, one daughter in Mercer and one son in Warren, Ohio. One child is deceased.

They also have 29 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Holt retired from the paint department at Pullman Standard when it closed in 1982. He loves to hunt, fish and garden.

Mrs. Holt retired from the cannister department of MSA in 1984. She is a devoted housewife and mother.

The Holts are Protestant.
