Diana Winters
Diana Winters, 65, of Butler died Wednesday at the emergency room of Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 18, 1947, in Tacoma, Wash., as Diana Pierce. She was the daughter of the late Robert R. Pierce and Stella Kankos Pierce.
Diana's early childhood was in Hatfield, Pa., during which time she loved playing with her dolls. Her later childhood was in Natrona Heights. She spent almost every waking moment taking care of her horse, Coffee.
She graduated from Kent State University in 1969 and married Wayne Winters in 1971. She was a teacher for the Butler School District for 20 years. She also worked for Dr. Asha Marwaha for 10 years.
Diana was a mother. She filled her three children's lives with joyful daily adventures involving picnics, parks and hikes in the woods. The love, devotion and memories she gave to her children were a gift that lives in the hearts of all three of them today and is joyfully passed on to Diana's seven grandchildren.
Diana was a very private and independent person. She loved the simple things in life — reading, riding her bike, enjoying nature and spending time with her grandchildren.
