12:09 a.m. Sunday — Bryan Edinger, 43, of Mars was charged with driving under the influence-highest rate of alcohol, driving under the influence-incapable of safe driving, careless driving, driving with a suspended license and operating a vehicle without a valid inspection following a traffic stop on East Jefferson Street.Police recorded his blood-alcohol level at 0.215 percent. Under state law, a person with a minimum 0.08 percent blood-alcohol level can be charged with DUI.Edinger's passenger, George Washington Staley III, 43, of Butler was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued by the Butler County Sheriff's office for failure to pay money as ordered by the court in relation to a theft case.

12:15 a.m. Sunday — Carrie Grossman, 37, of Slippery Rock was charged with simple assault after allegedly attacking Wilbert Wiles, 39, of West Sunbury at 206 Pipestem Road in Cherry Township. Wiles was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of facial injuries.8:48 a.m. Saturday — Larry Jewart, 63, of Chicora was driving an SUV on Route 68 in Donegal Township when he heard a loud bang and saw flames coming from underneath the vehicle. He then pulled the vehicle off the road. The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 911 call.Saturday — Macey Buzanoski, 21, of Butler reported the driver's side door handle of her black BMW X3 being broken off while it was parked at University Village Apartments on Keister Road in Slippery Rock Township between 10 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.11:30 p.m. Friday — Shawn M. Wedlock, age unavailable, was charged with simple assault and harassment after an altercation with another person at 119A Plateau St. in Renfrew. Police did not release any information about the victim.9:13 p.m. Thursday — A large maroon pickup driven by an unknown person and a car driven by Sally Nicklas, 62, of Evans City collided at the intersection of Route 68 and Stevenson Road in Connoquenessing Township. The truck, which sustained damage to its passenger side, fled west on Route 68. Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.April 23 — A large amount of scrap metal was stolen from Stanzione Scrap Iron and Metals on Brewer Road in Clinton Township between 10 a.m. April 21 and 7 p.m. April 23. Police are investigating.2:03 a.m. April 18 — Sherri Denise Stohler, 54, of Hibbs in Fayette County was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township.

7:20 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Travis Myers, 18, of Butler hit the center cement barrier on Interstate 80 in Allegheny Township. Myers, who fell asleep at the wheel, received minor injuries. He was cited for careless driving.<B>

Saturday — Four 16-inch aluminum rims from a green Camaro and a red engine stand were stolen from property on Old School Road in Wolf Creek Township between Tuesday and Saturday.3:30 p.m. April 15 — Carter's children's store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township reported two women stole six baby outfits. The women are described as black, heavy set and in their late 30s. The first woman had long hair, is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, was wearing a black T-shirt and carrying a black purse. The second had blond hair on top, was 5 feet, 6 inches tall and was wearing a green top with black pants.

12:58 a.m. April 21 — Benjamin Robin Anderson, 51, of New Castle was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop on Route 65 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.
